Is FlatDiag made by Porsche?
No. FlatDiag is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Porsche. "Porsche," the Porsche model names, and Porsche feature names (such as PASM, PDCC, and Sport Chrono) are trademarks of their owner; we use them only to describe compatibility.
Will coding hurt my car?
FlatDiag is built to make coding safe and reversible: every change is backed up first, you confirm each write, and the result is read back to verify. Stick to documented options, keep battery voltage healthy, and you can always restore the original in one press.
What do I need to buy?
An iPhone or Mac you already own and an OBDLink CX Bluetooth adapter. The newest Porsches that use DoIP (the 992, Taycan, and other Ethernet cars) need an ENET adapter instead. No laptop, cables, or subscription.
Which Porsche models are supported?
FlatDiag spans Porsche's KWP2000, UDS, and DoIP generations: the 911 (997, 991, 992), Boxster & Cayman (987, 981), Panamera (970, 971), Cayenne (958, 9YA), Macan (95B), Taycan (J1), and 918 Spyder. What works varies by generation, so see the coverage table above.
Which cars can it code, and which are read only for now?
Full coding is available on the UDS generation cars: the 981, 982 and 991, the 958 Cayenne, the 95B Macan, the 970 Panamera, and the 918 Spyder. The newest DoIP cars (992, Taycan, 9YA Cayenne, 971 Panamera) support scanning, fault codes, and live data. Coding on those cars reaches only a couple of modules today, such as the sound system and the antenna module, and is still being expanded. The 997 and 987 read and clear fault codes today, and coding and live data for those cars are coming soon. Only the 981 has been validated on a real car so far; every other line is built from the factory diagnostic data and exercised against a built in simulator.
Can I try it now?
Yes. FlatDiag is in TestFlight beta and actively improving. Request access and we'll send you a beta invite, plus news when it reaches the App Store. Prefer to look first? A built in simulator lets you explore the whole app with no car connected.
Does it work on Mac and CarPlay?
Both. FlatDiag is one app that runs on iPhone and Mac, and it shows your live data on the car's CarPlay screen while you drive.
Is my data private?
Yes. Diagnostics and coding run on your own device, and your backups stay there. There's no account. The app contacts FlatDiag's key server only to confirm it is a genuine copy and to unlock its built in data; your vehicle's data is never uploaded.
